Wildflowers adorn the mirrored walls
in silent reflections of eternity
as tables sit with an emptiness of patience
relishing the memories of lost conversations
and faded aromas of coffee and toast
the stillness drifts into the shadows
to wrap itself around the legs of chairs
waiting in anticipation for the air of fresh hungry tongues
and OH! Just listen to it screech in delight!
Much to the annoyance of the poet!
